I have been a part of many spiritual communities in my lifetime.
Some have involved curiosity in childhood and exploring the religions of my friends’ parents with many questions to consider, such as “Why do you believe this/that” and “If this, does it mean that?”

Later in my own teen years, I was brave and bold enough to ask my Mother in particular whom I knew had many ideas of faith and belief across a spectrum, ” is God real?” and “How do you believe in God,”? I inherently understood her to be the most authentic and ”multireligious” person who never wanted to put or place her “opinions” of any spiritual notions onto us. And so when I came to her that faithful day with the courage to ask the questions she suggested I read a book, which in hindsight could be considered extremely subjective and suggestive, but at the time, it was in that single moment from all of my childhood experiences that I recall connecting so deeply with my mom in unspoken ways. Walking in wooded areas silently observing the quiet steady life all around was another way. We always spoke better to each other without words.

The book she recommended was “Conversations with God, The Trilogy.” I devoured the books as if I hadn’t truly taken in any knowledge my entire life up until that point. Everything resonated immediately. It was as if all the words in my body that struggled to come out were lit up upon reading this text. The things I couldn’t articulate were the things I knew to be so true in my bone marrow. The things I heard from my friends in those curious years before reading this book were immediately interrogated, the same way I did so curiously years before with my friends. It was finding the missing pieces of the puzzle within. What stood out to me the most from this book was the quote from God, ” No one does anything wrong given their model of the world.” This by far was the greatest, most profound sentence I still find solace in.
Now people can argue, was Neale Donlad Walsch actually channeling God/Source energy or was this coming from him? I think in most spiritual communities and circles who take on knowledge beyond the empirical, scientific, and visible say, if the information resonates, feels loving and welcoming, receive it how you will. If not those things, maybe it’s not for you. At the end of the day, it’s up to us in all things to discern what information we want to digest, align with, and use for our greater purposes and truth. For me, I fully felt the power of a larger energy within those pages and from that point, my spiritual non-religious curiosity grew.
Also, during this time a couple of years later, my mother introduced her own channeling abilities to me and a couple of my siblings. From the first encounter, I knew then too, this was real for me and the nature of my reality was quite different from anyone I called friends and certain family.
To jump many light years ahead, I am now someone who holds two degrees from a divinity school that intersects in matters of what some would term social justice, equity work, and/or liberatory frameworks and epistemologies. My current employment, for money also falls under this bubble of equity work within organizational practices, strategy, consultation, and youth development.
As I have been taking on deeper meditative intentional practices in connecting to my heart center, opening myself up to give and receive more love, and stepping into my sovereign power as the divine Creator that I am, a part of all unified infinite Love and Light Creation in which we all come from, I am noticing the subtle invitations from Spirit to work with me in growing a deeper sense of compassion and acceptance of all people.
I am here to be present in my divine knowledge and bring forth these divine creative gifts to the world in the style I know best for me. As I notice spiritual communities growing more and more with this greater awakening and increase in consciousness, it is a felt duty to share my stories and share my perspective for some who may find difficulty putting ideas and concepts into practice. After all, most of our tools come from places where we are told we don’t know how to use them unless we have a specific teacher who can show us and even then, there is a culture that there might be only one right way of doing something. I am not that specific teacher unless that is something we agree upon. I am both a student and teacher of many things but what I know to be true in my so-called teaching is reminding myself and others of our inherent memories that govern our desires to create in this world. In other words, we have the power to form our wildest dreams in this reality yet there have been many forms of oppression, religious and spiritual that have made us think otherwise and I am here to say as I remember this truth, I am going to support anyone else who wants to remember and act upon this truth.
I have studied the teachings of the Law of One, channeled material coming from a group of 6th density- Ra, they call themselves, social complex beings and they talk a lot about distortion. Distortions, how I come to understand their definition is anything that branches out of the One Infinite Creator. A distortion is neither negative nor positive it just is almost like a branch logic that is a branch/pattern, step away from the SOURCE logic. For instance, being on this planet is a distortion given that it is an illusionary experience that has us seated as souls utilizing a human body to navigate a very dense plane of existence. This is not a bad or good thing. It’s just a thing that tells us our understanding and knowledge of any experiences we have here which are a distorted form from the pure essence of all that is. Therefore, within these distortions we can choose and create to a certain extent, what distortions we would like to clear out to get us more aligned with our truest essence and/or what distortions we would like to continue to play with for us to keep experiencing our creative power within; ie identities, beliefs, systems, etc we are attached to.
Distortions in Gender & Sex
Take the biology of sex and gender. Science understands that specific genes from our chromosomes create activation of chemicals/hormones in the womb while a child is growing to manifest certain biological systems and body parts that have been typically recognized as symbolizing and distinguishing humans by sex. Scientists also know that there is a lot of variance in the chromosomal, genetic makeup that creates more than just two biological sexes that can then also form many different kinds of ways gender is manifested. For most people living on this planet, we have all learned and understood or have been told that gender and sex are one and the same. Maybe more than two decades ago scientists actually realized that sex is the gross anatomical parts made up biologically, hormonally, genetically, and chemically that can manifest itself in many different ways not just two different ways, and that gender is more of a socialized construct whereby depending on the ratios of those chemicals and gross anatomical parts, once puberty hits the first time for many, some socialize one way, the others socialize another way, and then there are other ways in between. The uptick of trans, nonbinary, gender non-conforming folks in the world is nothing new since the dawn of man. More indigenous ways of knowing have always honored and not honored the many ways their people have seen themselves from this original logic that branches from male and female. Duality is real. Polarity is real. Humans live in a dual world with real polar ways of being and real gray spectrum ways of being. The binary and the nonbinary ways of knowing, thinking, believing, and experiencing do not negate each other. Multiplicities and pluralities exist.
The both/and multiplicity of our Ontology
How do we reconcile so much forced sameness and agreement here on this Earth with these microcosms of difference?
There is distortion from the onset of a baby forming in the womb. No single individual has the exact same chromosomal makeup, chemical, and hormonal ratios that form their body let alone that work within their experiences walking on this Earth. Even identical biological twins have variations at this level. Even the blood of two infant identical twins and their chemical data ratios (bloodwork) would not be the same. We are variant beings living particular lives.
Someone sees themselves as a cis able-bodied white man, the other a trans-non-able-bodied Black woman, and our societal structures have created conditions for the latter person to not be welcomed as normal nor really existing. That this person is an outlier somehow who needs mental health support and doesn’t deserve any protection under the law or even basic needs because they are supposedly an abomination to the human race. Who is trying to control the ways we create and why?
Questions to Consider
Where do we get such ideas and concepts from?
And why are there people in the spiritual communities who affirm love and light for all but then complain and argue about cultural warfare, politics, political correctness, and erasure of “natural values.”
How did the purity politics of the Christian hegemonic white supremacy patriarchal, antiblack, sexist, able-bodied church become so deeply ingrained into the social ideology of the day?
And, if we are all branch logic coming from SOURCE logic, how do we reconcile all our identities and ways of knowing in this human form which are distorted; therefore where is the consideration to accept the individual journey as it is, to uncover who and what we are through the infinite forms we can create on this Earth?
When did we somehow think we were THE GOD to then be so bold to think we completely understand the full makeup of our creation?
These are questions I am exploring in my next writings to seek more clarity in how to merge and marry equity work with spiritual work. If our truest intentions at the depth of our hearts are to love and be loved and to harness the practice of compassion and non-judgment, why do we justify and create parameters in what is acceptable forms of love, acceptance, and compassion and non-acceptable forms of love, acceptance, and compassion?
If we hold so much bias in the ways we accept, is that really acceptance? We of course aren’t perfect beings, but if we are striving for progress, then what must I ask myself at every turn to come to the realization that all is love and therefore everyone and everything in God’s creation is deserving of Love?
Thus including the people and groups we want to justifiably hate and judge. The Christian phrase “turn the other cheek” has been used to gaslight and abuse people for a millennium, but there is still merit in that saying. Attack me, judge me, hate me, consider me wrong, vile, whatever, but I don’t have to do the same to you. I can turn, give you my other cheek for folks to go about, and continue doing/saying the harsh things, while I sit here and love you. In the depths of my soul, Love you. That’s an action! Feel my heart center and feel God’s power within me, to rest in the assuredness that I am love and I can love you, knowing your current words and actions are distortions as are mine- yet we are One, a part of the SOURCE in love and service to all.
My next piece relates to the merger of equity and spirituality on spiritual bypassing. What it is and how to be real with ourselves and those around us without jumping to or dissociating from our reality or another’s reality.
